About the Role: Driving Agile Excellence & Team Performance
Are you a servant leader passionate about guiding teams to peak performance and predictable delivery? WorkinVirtual is recruiting for a Scrum Master to champion the Agile framework within a leading software development organization. This is a high-impact contract role where you will be the catalyst for efficiency, removing impediments and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within a globally distributed team.
You will coach and mentor a cross-functional development team, ensuring the effective application of Scrum principles to deliver high-value software. Your expertise in facilitating Scrum ceremonies and optimizing team velocity will be critical to the success of our client’s product roadmap and software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Key Responsibilities: Facilitate, Coach, and Optimize
-
Expertly facilitate all Scrum ceremonies including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives to ensure they are productive, time-boxed, and focused on continuous improvement.
-
Act as a servant leader and Agile Coach for one or more development teams, shielding them from distractions, resolving conflicts, and enabling their focus on sprint goals and deliverables.
-
Proactively identify, track, and systematically remove impediments that hinder team progress, escalating issues when necessary to ensure a sustainable pace of delivery.
-
Manage and optimize the Agile project management toolkit, primarily Jira, to maintain accurate sprint backlogs, track team velocity, and generate burn-down/burn-up charts for transparency.
-
Foster a collaborative partnership between the development team and product owners to ensure backlog clarity, effective prioritization, and alignment with business objectives.
-
Track, analyze, and report on key Agile metrics (velocity, sprint goal success, capacity) to help the team forecast, improve its performance, and demonstrate value to stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications
-
2+ years of experience as a dedicated Scrum Master for software development teams.
-
Active Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I/II, SAFe Scrum Master) is required.
-
Deep, practical understanding of Agile methodologies and frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and their application in a remote setting.
-
Proven experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies for distributed, global teams.
-
Proficiency with Agile project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar.
-
Excellent communication, facilitation, and conflict-resolution skills.
-
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and drive results in a remote-first environment.
What We Offer
-
$45 – $75 USD per hour, based on experience, certifications, and location.
-
The flexibility to coach and facilitate from anywhere in the world.
-
Allowance for advanced Agile certifications (PSM II, ICP-ACC, etc.) and attendance at virtual Agile conferences.
-
Directly influence team morale, productivity, and the successful delivery of key software products.
-
Collaborate with a diverse, international team of developers, product managers, and designers.
-
Many of our contract roles convert to full-time positions based on performance and project needs.
