Your Mission: Architect a World-Class Engineering Organization

As the Director of Engineering, you will be the cornerstone of our technical leadership. Your primary mission is to instill structure, transparency, and operational excellence into a dynamic, scaling environment. You will not merely manage growth; you will design a resilient, enterprise-ready engineering framework capable of handling massive scale while delivering market-leading innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Technical Leadership: Translate ambitious business objectives into a clear, pragmatic engineering roadmap and technical strategy for the Sportsbook product line.

• Organizational Transformation: Design and implement a scalable engineering structure, developing a robust middle management layer (Team Leads, Architects) to create centers of responsibility and drive accountability.

• Delivery Excellence: Synchronize Engineering, Product, and Delivery functions to enhance release predictability, optimize time-to-market, and maintain unwavering system stability and fault tolerance.

• Team Scaling & Development: Lead the multi-fold expansion of a globally distributed engineering team (from ~30 to 100+), fostering a culture of ownership, initiative, and continuous professional growth.

• Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary technical authority for the Sportsbook platform, building strong cross-functional relationships and effectively communicating strategy to C-level executives and key clients.

• Process & Performance Optimization: Establish and refine engineering metrics, best practices, and quality standards to drive continuous improvement in delivery speed, system resilience, and team performance.

• Backend: Golang

• Infrastructure: Kubernetes, Kafka, Elasticsearch

• Data: PostgreSQL, Redis

• Frontend: React / React Native

The Ideal Candidate Profile:

Required Experience & Qualifications:

• A minimum of 10 years in software engineering, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role (Director, Head of, or VP of Engineering).

• A proven track record of successfully scaling engineering teams from ~30 to over 100 members in a high-growth environment.

• Demonstrable experience in rebuilding engineering processes and restoring manageability and transparency after a period of rapid, unstructured growth.

• Deep, hands-on expertise in designing, building, and operating high-load, distributed, cloud-native systems with strict SLA requirements.

• Strong technical background in microservices, Kubernetes, and event-driven architectures, with familiarity in open-source stacks (Go, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka).

• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with fluency in both English and Russian.

• Background in a relevant high-stakes industry such as betting, gaming, fintech, or other high-frequency transaction systems.
